Karen, Andrew, and me went to Italy over Thanksgiving week to visit Abby and to do a quick tour of some parts of the country (with Abby, our new Italian expert, showing us around). We flew into Rome where Abby met up with us via train from Florence (where she goes to school). We spent most of our first two days in Rome; then we drove to Florence, where we spent the next three days (where we got to see Abby's apartment and school); then we drove to Venice, where we spent two days; and then back down to Rome, where we caught our flight back home this past weekend. It was a whirlwind vacation, but we really enjoyed the culture, art, history, food, and drink of Italy ... and most important of all, we enjoyed reuniting with Abby for the holiday. We really miss her, but are very proud of her as well. Here are just a few highlights to our trip (
